Idrees works in emerging markets across the infrastructure and global urban sectors. He advises donors, financial institutions companies, and international engineering companies on some of the major challenges to mobilizing private finance for infrastructure. This has included designing facilities and projects to attract institutional investors to the sector, strategy development for multilateral organizations, policy advice to major donors on how they should utilize aid money to leverage financing for sustainable development, and economic due diligence of infrastructure investments.
Idrees is a senior consultant and partner at OxMA. He has over a decade of experience in all facets of the construction industry, including project initiation, civil/structural engineering, construction project management, and urban infrastructure development. Key clients have included the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank Group, Department for International Development (DFID), the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), and the Global Infrastructure Hub.
Idrees has successfully delivered complex over $600 million infrastructure portfolio in agriculture, energy, urban development, transport, and water. He managed the entire program cycle leading a large team of experts and contractors. He is proficient in MapInfo, Web Map, Confirm, GIS, and Pathways.
Idrees holds a Master’s degree in International Construction Management and Engineering with distinction from the University of Leeds. He also holds first-class Bachelors in Civil Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar.
Idrees is a UK Chevening alumnus and a member of the Institute of Civil Engineers.
