Jason Hayward-Jones is an agribusiness specialist focused on emerging markets, especially Asia and Africa. He has over 30 years’ experience of project planning, due diligence, investment structuring, project and investment management, business strategy development and trouble-shooting, and has contributed to broader agri-sector development and policy research.

Jason has worked with most aspects of agribusiness value-chains, from smallholder development through to large-scale arable, livestock and fish farming, industrial plantations, agro-processing and manufactured food and beverages.

Jason has been working with core OxMA team since 2010. His assignments have included performance reviews and strategy development for major horticulture ventures; formulating a competitiveness strategy for commercial farming; developing project governance and change management roadmaps; scoping agribusiness investment prospects in Africa generally and in Nigeria and Sierra Leone; and management training. Clients have included the ADB, AusAID, CIDA, DfID, DGIS, ECHO/DGVIII, and IFC/World Bank.

Jason holds a First-Class Honors degree in Agriculture from Seale Hayne College and a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Nebraska. In addition to his role at OxMA, Jason is the founder of REGENFARM, and is a member of the British Institute of Agricultural Consultants (MBIAC), and advises Link Academy Trust – a development foundation.
